The mission of TransAccess is to provide persons with disabilities access to adaptive technology and career transition services so that they can achieve their desired education and employment, and improve their quality of life.

By volunteering for one or more of the following opportunities, you will be assisting us in carrying out our mission. Please mark the area(s) you are interested in supporting.


Leadership Volunteer Opportunities - Take a lead role by joining our Board of Directors, Business Advisory Committee or join our ArtAbility Fundraiser Event Planning Committee.

Summer Career Academy - Students will have the opportunity to explore their career interest, recognize their transferable skills, understand the types of education and training available and gain practical experience needed to find employment.
Volunteers are needed during the following sessions:
  • Session 1 June 17 – 20 9:30 – 3:00
  • Session 2 June 24 – 27 9:30 – 3:00
  • Session 3 Aug 5 – 8 9:30 – 3:00

    Duties may include:
  • Assist instructor by working with the students with the following:
  • Internet searches
  • Editing resumes
  • Mock interviews – act as employer asking interview questions (questions provided)
  • Career research for final projects
  • Completing job applications
  • Coordination/ordering of lunches

    Additional information:
  • Volunteer may work all day or part of the day
  • Volunteer may work all days of session or just some days
  • Volunteer may stay longer than 3:00 to assist teacher with prep for next class
  • Requires patience as volunteer will be working with various levels of disabilities, which may include slightly autistic students that need repetition of instruction, instruction given various ways, etc.
    • Job Fairs - Assist at job fairs held at high schools in the Santa Clara County

    Office Assistance - Various duties that may include scanning books into accessible formats and other related duties.

    Student Involvement - Involve yourself with the students through mentoring programs, computer assistance and program evaluations.
